When my wife and I moved to Nashville in 1979, I had my guitar and a handful of songs.
Though I dreamed of making a living behind the microphone, I found myself working behind the scenes, eventually serving as vice president of marketing for a prominent faith-based record label during the 80s. A decade later, I resigned from that position to write, record, and tour--releasing three albums in the early 90s, touring 100 dates annually for the next five years, and scoring four #1 Christian Country radio singles as half of the duo Wilcox & Pardoe.
As our daughters grew older and I wanted to be home more, I re-entered the business side as vice president of sales for a label group and exited that role several years later to start a successful artist and tour management company. From there, I went to law school and passed the bar to become an entertainment attorney.
For much of the past decade, I've taught music business and pre-law at Trevecca Nazarene University. I've also authored two books on the music business (How to Make a Living in the Music Business and Introduction to Music Industry Law.) When COVID hit in 2020, and we were isolated at home, I started working up my favorite songs on guitar. Since then, the list has grown to more than 150 selections.
Seems like things have come full circle. These days, I have my guitar and some songs that I'd be honored to play for you.
